Ro Boddie

Communication Skills Consultant

Ro is an Actor, Musician and Educator who is currently based in Washington, DC.

He loves using his training and the tools he’s learned from his 15+ years of professional acting to help others enhance their authenticity. As a coach, he is a passionate believer in cultivating a safe space where clients feel a freedom to explore, take risks and to ultimately embrace all the qualities that make them unique. Encouraging a high level of integrity from his clients, Ro drives them to own their space and claim the right to speak their truth.

Ro has performed various episodic roles on shows like The Good Wife, Person of Interest and Godfather of Harlem and has worked Off-Broadway and at regional theaters around the country. Some credits include Socrates at The Public Theatre starring Michael Stuhlbarg, A Play is a Poem written by Ethen Coen at Mark Taper Forum, Windfall at Bay Street Theater directed by Jason Alexander and Seize The King starring as “Richard III” at The Classical Theatre of Harlem.

Currently, Ro teaches acting at American University and is a proud resident artist at Round House Theatre in Bethesda, MD. He is also a member of Actor Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.

What is your favorite moment in the training room?

My favorite moment in the training room is when clients start to find ease through relaxed concentration.

Which role or performance of your own has meant the most to you as an actor?

The role of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in The Mountaintop by Katori Hall. I’m currently preparing for this role and to portray someone with such radical love is an honor.

What do you consider your personal trademark as a trainer?

The personal trademark is creating a room full of generosity, heart and acceptance.

What can't you start your day without? 

I can’t start my day without hugging my family, caffeine and a good workout.

What is your personal motto? 

This too shall pass.
